NUSTAR Seminar

Speaker: Yoritaka Iwata

The present status of theoretical research based on time-dependent density functional calculations is presented focusing on the synthesis of new chemical elements. The incident energies corresponding to reactions resulting in fusion, fusion-fission and quasi-fission events are mostly concerned. For those energies charge equilibration plays a dominant role in reaction dynamics. In this talk time-dependent density functional calculations with different incident energies and impact parameters are shown. Consequently the possibility of producing nuclei located around the island of stability is discussed.
