GET_INvolved Pilot Programme - Calicut Univeristy India
A warm welcome to Arunima Thekku Veetil and Anagha Panniyam Kuzhiyil, two talented students from the Department of Physics at the University of Calicut, India, who have been selected in the GET_INvolved Programme as pilot candidates. They has started their internship at FAIR/GSI in Fragment Separator Group of the NUSTAR Collaboration.
Currently in the final stages of completing their M.Sc. in Radiation Physics, as part of her master’s project, Arunima is exploring in his home University the "Influence of transfer-induced and inelastic breakup on α production in 12C-12C collisions at intermediate energies” while Anagha is focusing on “Unraveling Dose Tailing in Hadron Therapy : Impact of Cluster Transfer on 12C Fragmentation".
Here at FAIR/GSI they will put their knowledge on two different researches: “Data-analysis of past and simulations for future experiments with light-ion fusion” for Arunima and "Analysis of charge changing cross section" for Anagha.
Throughout the project, they will gain valuable experience in programming and data analysis, testing equipment, working in a collaborative project environment, and applying electronics in experimental setups. Their internship at FAIR/GSI provides them with an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with leading experts at the Fragment Seperator Group of GSI, expand their research skills by working with mentors, and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in physics.
We wish them great success on this exciting journey of scientific discovery.
